Anico's product range expanded with Hytera products

Those who have been paying attention in the past weeks and months may have noticed that our company's product portfolio has been expanded with a new brand.

Hytera at a glance - from the beginning till today

Hytera Communications Corporation is presented in the top 3 largest transceiver manufacturers in the world, so it’s role in the transceiver market is not negligible. We have done some research into the company's history, developments and went through it’s products - some of them in more detail.

Hytera came on the scene in 1993 as Shenzhen HYT Science & Technology Co., Ltd, founded by Mr Chen Qingzhou in Shenzhen, China. Their first transceiver was introduced in 1995, called the C160 - the first radio developed by a Chinese company.

In 2004, the company established its first overseas subsidiaries in the US and Europe in the UK. In 2006, the company introduced its first TETRA transceiver, the PT-790, and its first ATEX transceiver, the TC-700. The TC1600 was named one of the "25 most successful product designs of the year" by Fortune magazine in 2007. In 2010, the company rebranded as Hytera and launched the first member of its successful DMR product line, the PT580H.

In 2012, Hytera acquired the TETRA portfolio of German Rohde & Schwarz PMR GmbH, which was renamed Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH. Hytera celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013. In this jubilee year, it launched a new range of digital transceivers in the form of the DMR PD6 and MD6 series. In 2017, the first Hytera Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) handset was released, and in 2018, they introduced the complete PoC platform and management system.

Hytera strives to understand the communication challenges of industrial users and is committed to supporting the most open communication standards, including TETRA, DMR, PDT and LTE. It has over 100 offices worldwide and more than 40% of its workforce is engaged in engineering, research and development. It has 8 global innovation and development centres in China, Germany, Spain and Canada.

Currently, we are innovating on several key areas: LTE/PMR Convergence: We are exploring how LTE technology can seamlessly converge with PMR technologies, such as DMR and TETRA, incorporating feature-rich broadband technologies while ensuring that critically important voice services remain reliably accessible using narrowband technologies. This provides faster, more reliable communication.

Fast Deployment Communication Solutions: Utilizing broadband and narrowband communication technologies, we aim to set up secure, non-line-of-sight wireless links on demand, enabling front-line responders to communicate with on-site command centers in complex environments. Artificial Intelligence: We are implementing AI to enhance features such as intelligent data analysis for Bodycam and Digital Evidence Management solutions.

Will you expand the PMR446 product portfolio?

Yes, we offer a wide range of products, including PMR446 license-free radios. We are expanding our product line to include more user-friendly and fashionable options for this market segment, ensuring that users can enjoy high-quality communication devices that are both reliable and easy to use.

What future do you see for body cameras?

We believe that body cameras have a promising future, especially in fields such as law enforcement, security, and emergency services. We foresee several developments: Enhanced Connectivity: Improved real-time data transmission capabilities to ensure live streaming and instant access to footage. Advanced Analytics: Incorporation of AI for features like multi-view playback and track playback. Better Integration: Seamless integration with HyTalk PoC systems and devices to provide a comprehensive solution for operational efficiency and safety.
